Next-Gen Men Stepping Into New Worlds
Last week, our Next-Gen Men were given a rare opportunity to step beyond their comfort zones and into the bustling world of Foodworks Hallidays Point
After an empowering gym session and a deep brotherhood circle built on trust and resilience, our young men – many living with neurodiversity and their own unique challenges – walked into an environment where trust, communication, and courage were put to the test.

From the moment they were welcomed by the owner, who shared his journey into the supermarket world with pride and passion, our boys saw firsthand what it means to build a business rooted in community, quality, and care. They learned how this store supports locals – with LOCAL fruit and veg, eggs, fish, meat, and bread, all produced with love for the community.

Then came the hands-on adventure:
Baking in the bakery
Serving in the deli
Stacking shelves & managing produce
Ticketing, presentation & registers
Cooking their own lunch in a commercial oven designed to help cook meals for locals.
And just when nerves could’ve held them back, our boys rose to the challenge – even serving real customers at the registers during busy periods.

The day finished around the table with laughter, yarns, and honest reflections on the good, the bad, and the ugly. These moments build more than skills – they build confidence, belonging, and belief in what’s possible.

A huge thank you to the Halliday’s Point FoodWorks team for your time, patience, and inspiration. You didn’t just teach skills; you created memories and pathways.

Together, we’re changing the story for our youth – one adventure at a time and thriving.
