Our Why
Why giving back is so important
Lack of services
The Mid Coast region faces a critical shortage of essential services, including mental health support, developmental assessments, and allied health professionals. This gap leaves vulnerable individuals, particularly children and youth, without access to timely care, hindering their development, well-being, and overall quality of life in the community.
Rise in social isolation, self-harm and suicide ideation
The Mid North Coast of New South Wales is seeing increasing rates of social isolation, self-harm, and suicide ideation, particularly among vulnerable populations like youth and Indigenous communities. Several regions in New South Wales, including the Mid-North Coast, show concerning "hot spots" for suicide and self-harm, with socioeconomic disadvantage, lack of mental health support, and isolation contributing to these issues.
Despite growing needs, access to mental health services and developmental assessments remains limited in these areas, putting further strain on individuals already facing challenges such as trauma, financial hardship, and family issues. Addressing these gaps is critical for the well-being of at-risk populations.
Partnership
Into The Wild Adventures is proud to have partnered with a registered charity Soaring Into The Wilderness INC, dedicated to helping youth in remote communities who face barriers to accessing vital support. Many of these young people are impacted by financial hardship, trauma, developmental delays, parental incarceration, domestic violence, and other challenges. By securing government funding and support from businesses, philanthropists, and compassionate individuals, we aim to provide these youth with opportunities they would otherwise miss. Together, we can empower the next generation and ensure they have the resources needed to thrive and overcome life’s difficulties.
